NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 27 – A neighbor who was testifying in the Maxine Wahome’s murder case on Wednesday told the court that Assad Khan was always violent to his numerous ex-girlfriends.

According to Chemutai Korir, Khan had shouted at Wahome on the fateful day while insulting her to get out of his house.

She recalled that on that day, there were terrifying sounds that were coming from Assad’s apartment which was above hers.

“They sounded like heavy pounding on the floor. Assad was yelling and Maxine Wahome was crying,” she stated.

Korir said It was not the first time they were fighting as it was common occurrence with the last incident being more intense.

As the struggle went on, she called the guard downstairs who knocked at their door and also rang the bell before gong down.

“Thereafter the commotion stopped for about five minutes and then the commotion started again. I heard sounds of a struggle that’s what I could hear,” she testified.

Chemutai was further cross examined on Asad’s temper.

“I knew he had a violent temper. Before Maxine …the ex girlfriend was also subjected to violence. There would be an argument but those ladies would leave,” she said.

Maxine is charged with the murder of Asad, who died on December 19, 2022 after he sustained serious injuries at his home.
