Nairobi to host Africa Internet Summit

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 17 – Nairobi will next week host the Africa Internet Summit 2026, bringing together policymakers, regulators, network operators and technology experts to discuss the future of Internet development across the continent.

The summit, scheduled for June 22-26, comes as Africa’s digital economy continues to expand, driving demand for better connectivity, stronger cybersecurity systems and improved digital infrastructure.

Organised by AFRINIC and AfNOG and hosted locally by TESPOK, the event will feature discussions on Internet governance, network resilience, digital inclusion and emerging technologies.

Participants are also expected to deliberate on the management of Internet resources, including IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, amid growing demand for connectivity and concerns over the depletion of older Internet protocols.

Technical training sessions for network engineers and Internet professionals will focus on routing security, IPv6 deployment, Domain Name System (DNS) operations and Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), which play a key role in improving Internet efficiency and reducing costs.

The summit will also bring together Internet service providers, cloud and data centre operators, technology companies, researchers and development organisations to explore ways of strengthening Africa’s Internet ecosystem.

The discussions come as many African countries seek to expand Internet access, improve network reliability and support the growth of digital services that are increasingly becoming central to economic activity.
