NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 2 – Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has officially declared his intention to vie for the Gatundu South parliamentary seat.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Kuria announced that he has registered as an aspirant for the Gatundu South Member of Parliament position under the UDA party ticket.
“I’ve registered as an aspirant to vie for Gatundu South MP on UDA ticket,” Kuria said.
The declaration marks Kuria’s return to active elective politics in Gatundu South, a constituency he previously represented.
His entry into the race is expected to significantly shape the political landscape in the area, given his national profile and long-standing association with the constituency.
Kuria, who holds the Head of State Commendation (HSC), has been a prominent figure in Kenya’s political and economic policy space, having served in various leadership roles both in Parliament and the Executive.
With the announcement, attention now shifts to the unfolding UDA nomination process and how other aspirants will respond to Kuria’s entry into the contest.
Political observers anticipate a competitive race as parties begin early mobilization ahead of the next general election.
