NAIROBI, Kenya, June 22, 2026 – Outgoing Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison has penned an emotional letter to the club, bidding farewell to teammates, coaches, officials as well as the fans.
The Ghanaian says the club will always occupy a special place in his heart for the way they treated him during his two-year stay.
“As I begin a new chapter in my career, the time has come to say goodbye. Leaving is not easy because Kenya and Gor Mahia will always hold a special place in my heart,” the Sudan-bound midfielder said.
Morrison’s relationship with K’Ogalo came to end on Sunday after his move to Sudanese giants Al Merreikh on a free transfer was confirmed by his new employers.
Speculation had long swirled over the future of the ex-Asante Kotoko midfielder whose contract with the 22-time FKF Premier League champions was approaching expiry.
His services were always expected to be in demand following his consistent outstanding displays in the middle of the park for Gor.
Morrison joined the club in July 2024 and immediately established himself as a fan favourite for his glitzy and gritty performances in midfield.
His tendency to celebrate with fans in the stands at the end of every match, and to engage with them on social media, further endeared him to many.
Reflecting on his time at K’Ogalo, Morrison was overflowing with gratitude towards all those associated with the club.
“Thank you to my teammates, coaches, management and the amazing fans for unwavering support throughout my time at the club. I leave with great memories, including winning the league together, and I will forever cherish those moments,” he added.
Gor are expected to scout the transfer market for able reinforcements even as they prepare to return to the Caf Champions League after a season without continental action.
The club has already been linked with a number of midfielders, including Nairobi United’s Enock Machaka.
For Morrison, he becomes the latest in a long line of foreign midfielders who have honed their art and craft at K’Ogalo — a lineage that includes the likes of Khalid Aucho and Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, both Ugandans.
