NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 30 – Kenya’s inflation has gone up to 6.68 percent in November, from 6.47 percent last month, driven mostly by food prices.
The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) said in a statement that on a month-on-month basis, the inflation went up by 0.71 percent, compared with Octobers’ 0.62 percent.
Food and non-alcoholic drinks’ inflation was 1.17 percent month-on-month while house, water, electricity gas and other fuel index increased by 0.11 percent.
On Monday, the monetary policy committee said that inflation will remain within the government’s target of 2.5 percent to 7.5 percent in the short term.
