NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 20 – The multidisciplinary cultural festival iToka – The Crossing will return for its second edition on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Eva’s Garden in Redhill, Limuru.
Dubbed Chapter 2, the day-long festival will bring together artists, creative entrepreneurs and cultural enthusiasts to celebrate contemporary African art, music, fashion and heritage.
Produced by Tuwashow Media, the festival seeks to use African storytelling and creative expression to foster cultural connections while creating opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs.
The festival takes its name from the Gikuyu term iToka, traditionally associated with boundary markers or plants used to demarcate land.
Organisers say the festival seeks to redefine boundaries as spaces for belonging, discovery and connection rather than separation.
“iToka was created to celebrate African creativity while providing a platform where artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural practitioners can connect with audiences and new opportunities,” said Tuwashow Media founder Chira Njoroge.
“Chapter 2 is about taking that vision further by creating meaningful experiences that celebrate our heritage while embracing the future of African creativity,” Njoroge added.
The 2026 edition will feature live performances from Addeh Prince, Nyawira Siren, iNala, Folk Fusion, Flow Flaani, Leting and CEDO.
Media personalities Aunty Jemimah and Kibunja will host the event, while DJs Maina Rada Safi and J.Y. will provide music throughout the festival.
Beyond music, attendees will experience curated visual art displays, fashion showcases and a creative marketplace supported by brands including Manyatta, DairyLand, Muck-pit, Coca-Cola and Britam.Kapu Digital, Karisa for Lights and Little Events are also supporting the event.
Performances are scheduled from noon to 8pm, with passes available through the Little Events platform or via USSD code *826*154#.
