The viral moment at Coldplay’s concert has led to another resignation at U.S. tech company Astronomer, following intense social media scrutiny and speculation.
Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, has officially stepped down from her role, the company confirmed to the BBC. Her resignation comes just days after former CEO Andy Byron left the company amid an internal investigation.
The departures are linked to a widely shared video from a recent Coldplay concert, in which a man and woman, identified as Byron and Cabot, were seen embracing on a large screen in front of thousands of fans. The pair appeared to react awkwardly, ducking out of view, which prompted a cheeky comment from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin: “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”
Astronomer released a statement announcing an investigation and placed CEO Andy Byron on leave. Just a day later, his resignation was made public.
