NAIROBI, Kenya, June 20 – Genetec Inc., a global leader in physical security software, has hosted its inaugural East African Security Symposium in Nairobi, underscoring its commitment to strengthening regional partnerships and advancing security innovation across the region.
Held under the theme “Unified security is more than security,” the event brought together Genetec’s channel partners from across Africa to explore how integrated security solutions can create safer, smarter, and more resilient organizations.
“Security is no longer a passive function — it’s a strategic enabler,” said Quintin Roberts, Regional Sales Manager for Africa at Genetec. “Whether you’re securing a power plant or a university, organizations need real-time insight, flexibility, and built-in resilience. By working closely with our customers, we’re delivering data-driven solutions that meet sector-specific challenges across the region.”
A key focus of the event was Genetec’s Security Center as a Service (SCaaS) platform, which unifies video surveillance, access control, and threat detection into a single, integrated system. The platform is designed to help institutions transition from traditional security models to proactive, data-centric risk management.
Genetec was recently named the world’s top video management system provider in the 2024 Omdia Report, a recognition of its global leadership and innovation.
As East Africa experiences rapid urbanization and digital transformation, Genetec emphasized the importance of modern, scalable, and intelligent security infrastructure in critical sectors such as transportation, finance, education, and energy.
The symposium marks a strategic step in Genetec’s regional expansion efforts, positioning the company as a key technology partner in East Africa’s evolving security landscape.
