‘Folklore’ crooner Taylor Swift endorses Joe biden in the run-up to election Day

The American election is only days a way, and as the race heats up celebrities are using their voices to influence change.

The 10-time Grammy winning artist added her take to the Presidential election declaring her support for the Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden. According to a recent interview, Swift noted that she felt Biden and Kamala Harris had the formula for what America needs.

According to a report on CNN, she expanded on her decision to do so in the new issue of V Magazine, a preview for which was released on Wednesday. “The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” Swift told the magazine.

“Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first. The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them.” She added that she believes that under Biden and Kamala Harris, “America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

Swift has millions of fans, and influences thousands but was never tackled political subject matter in her music or in interviews. With a recent change of heart, Swift has come out guns blazing against Pres. Donald J Trump’s approach and policies while in leadership urging American youth to make their vote count.

Following the Vice Presidential debate yesterday (7.10.2020) Kamala Harris pointed out that the Trump administration has not only let down the American people, but more importantly the current leadership “has forfeited their right to re-election”.
