NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 18 – Cleaning and laundry workers in Eldoret are set to benefit from training following a partnership between HACO Industries and Mama Fua App
The partners say the move is aimed at improving service quality and boosting income opportunities within the largely informal sector.
The programme targets “Mama Fua” workers, a segment that plays a critical role in Kenya’s urban household economy but often operates with limited access to formal training and structured markets.
Participants underwent practical sessions on modern laundry techniques, fabric care, hygiene standards and efficient cleaning methods, alongside financial literacy training to support income sustainability.
HACO says the initiative aligns with its strategy to deepen engagement with micro-entrepreneurs who drive demand for homecare products while strengthening service delivery standards.
“At HACO Industries, we recognize the important role that cleaning and laundry professionals play in households across Kenya. Through our partnership with Mama Fua and the support of our SoSoft and ACE brands, we aim to provide practical training and tools that empower these entrepreneurs to improve their services, grow their businesses, and increase their income opportunities.”
The training was delivered in collaboration with Cleaning School Kenya, a subsidiary of Mama Fua App, focusing on both technical skills and workplace safety.
The partners note that professionalization of the cleaning sector is gaining traction as digital platforms connect service providers to households and businesses, improving reliability and pricing transparency.
