NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 19 – Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Group posted a 37 percent rise in half-year pre-tax profit to Sh9.8 billion for the six months ended June 2026, driven by higher revenue and growth in its loan and deposit portfolios.
The lender’s top-line revenue increased by 21 percent, with net interest income rising 26 percent and non-interest income growing 7 percent.
Operating costs rose by 6 percent, while loan provisions increased by 37 percent.
DTB’s total assets grew by more than 10 percent year-on-year to Sh675 billion, while customer deposits increased 11 percent to Sh534 billion.
Loans and advances rose 14 percent to Sh328 billion.

DTB said its customer base across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda grew 44 percent over the past year to 5.9 million.
The lender attributed the growth to increased customer acquisition, digital banking, targeted lending and deposit mobilisation.
“99% of all new customers acquired over the past year were onboarded through our digital platforms and over 86% of all customer transactions were conducted on our digital channels,” DTB Finance and Strategy Director Alkarim Jiwa said.
The bank disbursed Sh10 billion in digital loans during the first half of the year to retail, micro, small and medium enterprise customers.
DTB Kenya Managing Director Murali Natarajan said the bank plans to open its 100th branch in Kenya by Christmas, taking its regional branch network to 163.
