NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 11 – Seven applicants have been shortlisted for the post of Media Council of Kenya (MCK) Chairperson.
They include former Chairperson Joseph Muiriri, Kenya Editors Guild Chairperson Churchil Otieno and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Communications Director Tabitha Mutemi.
Also shortlisted is Kenya Union Journalists Secretary-General Erick Oduor, Communication Specialist Peter Mutie, Kennedy Onyonyi Head of Marketing and Communication of Kenya Revenue of Authority as well as lecturer Susan Karago who served as a board member.
The Selection Panel chaired by Emmanuel Juma who published the names said interviews are set to be held on February 15 in Nairobi.
The shortlisted candidates will be required to bring clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corrupion Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and Credit Reference Bureau respectively.
The selection panel will submit the name of the successful candidate to the ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo for appointment.
