CBK launches survey to improve total cost of credit website

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 7 – The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), in partnership with the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), has launched a nationwide survey to assess user experience on the Total Cost of Credit (TCC) website, with the aim of upgrading the platform to better serve borrowers.

The TCC website, introduced in June 2017, is designed to enhance transparency in Kenya’s banking sector by allowing borrowers to compare loan products from various financial institutions and understand the full cost of credit before borrowing.

While the platform has helped promote informed borrowing and financial literacy, CBK notes that it has not kept pace with changes in the financial sector, prompting the need for a revamp.

The survey seeks feedback from customers of commercial banks, mortgage finance companies, microfinance banks, and the general public.

It is available at https://forms.office.com/r/d8FNWvt5e5 and must be completed by July 15, 2025.
