NAIROBI, Kenya, November 4, 2026 – KCB FC midfielder Humphrey Mieno is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

In a statement, the bankers confirmed the veteran’s long layoff, attributing it to their last match against FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

“Captain Hemphrey (sic) Mieno is set for a long layoff as a scan revealed that the midfielder suffered a complete tear of his right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during our last league match against Gor Mahia,” the club said.

Mieno’s absence is a huge blow for Robert Matano’s side for who he provided a much-needed leadership across the board and a creative spark in the middle of the park.

The widely-travelled midfield magician joined the bankers at the start of last season, alongside Matano, with who he has worked at various other clubs, including Sofapaka and Tusker.

He won three league titles with the brewers (2016, 2020/21 and 2021/22) as well as with Gor Mahia in 2018.

In his absence, the bankers will have it all to do as they seek to build momentum on their 2-1 victory over K’Ogalo in Embu on Sunday — a result that took them to second on the log with 10 points, two behind leaders Gor.
