NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 14 – The Africa Blockchain Festival will return to Nairobi in October, bringing together blockchain and artificial intelligence experts, investors, policymakers and technology entrepreneurs from across Africa and beyond.
The three-day event will run from October 15 to 17 at the Sarit Expo Centre under the theme “Capital, Code and Continuity: Building Africa’s Permanent Digital Economy.”
The festival is expected to bring together founders, venture capital firms, financial institutions, developers, regulators and technology companies to discuss blockchain, AI, digital finance, cybersecurity, tokenisation and other emerging technologies.
The 2026 edition will be held alongside the World Token Summit and will feature policy discussions, investor forums, startup showcases, technical workshops and exhibitions.
Africa Blockchain Festival co-founder and CEO Olubunmi Fabanwo said the event will focus on how technologies such as blockchain can address challenges in financial inclusion, public services and trade.
“Blockchain gives Africa an opportunity to build the digital foundations that future generations deserve,” Fabanwo said.
The festival’s return to Nairobi comes as Kenya continues to develop its technology and fintech ecosystem, particularly in mobile money, digital finance and artificial intelligence.
Fabanwo said Nairobi provides a suitable platform for bringing together investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers working on digital technologies across the continent.
The event builds on the inaugural festival held in Kigali, Rwanda, and is expected to attract delegates from Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
Discussions will cover tokenised assets, cross-border payments, digital identity, enterprise blockchain, startup investment and regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies.
