NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 22 – Mobility service provider AA Kenya has rolled out a USSD code to enable motorists to seamlessly sign up for membership with the company at a discounted rate.
Motorists who sign up via the USSD code will be able to access benefits that include road rescue and towing services in-case of any emergencies.
Previously, AA membership has largely been driven as an add-on to motor insurance products through insurance schemes, with membership rates being loaded on to the premium.
“However, most of the customers do not follow up post- premium payment and it is therefore at the discretion of the insurer to remit their premium and details to us,” says Francis Theuri, CEO, AA Kenya.
Individual subscriptions are below average and are usually by heritage customers through referral. Consumers of AA Kenya products are encouraged to confirm their membership by dialing the USSD *650#.
“Most consumers who are AA members through insurance schemes are not aware of the validity of their membership as they expect it to be automatic upon insurance premium payment,” says Theuri.
Founded as an automobile importer more than 100 years ago by an ex-Military Officer known as Lionel Galton Fenzi, AA Kenya has over the years leveraged technology to diversify into the provision of several other services.
These include online driver training, tracking, fleet management, motor vehicle valuation and inspection, car insurance brokerage, road rescue, and specialised training across its 62 branches countrywide.
