Socialite Vera Sidika is now a musician and she released her first single “Nalia” on Saturday (10.11.2018).
The former video vixen and entrepreneur has added another title to her name after trying her luck in music because of the rather nasty break up she had with fellow musician Otile Brown.
On Saturday, she debuted her first single titled “Nalia” which trended within hours. The video had more than 100K views on YouTube with more than 2,000 comments just hours after its release. Sang in Swahili “Nalia” claps back at her former boyfriend Otile for claiming that she had aborted his child and frequently asked him for money.
The song features Tanzanian model Calisah, proving that the Mercedes Benz stunt Sidika shard on her Instagram days before was just part of the script for the video shoot.

The duo have taken to their social media accounts to talk about their failed relationship. Otile previously released ‘Niacheni’ after their first break up and recently released ‘Nobody’ a day after their most recent break up. Vera being the ‘Queen of Publicity’ as she has aptly used the publicity of this break up to launch her music career with a bang.
Though the track has been well received, there are afew near misses in the production of the track. Here are the top 3 Vera’s musical debut “Nalia” did not hit the mark :
1. The autotune is inconsistent throughout the track.
Her first track as a signer, the track is well written and sang in fluent Swahili. However, the track’s autotune syncing is inconsistent. The track’s taartab beat has a distinct coastal feel, that makes for an easy listen. However, the poorly executed autotune distracts from the track’s telling lyrics.
2. The video was well shot, but the fake flames are reminicent of their fake relationship.
The shot that featured the car on fire was poorly orchestrated. Whether it is After Effects or CGI( computer generated imaging), the Merc on fire is fake and poorly executed. The video’s imaging was well done up until the point where the Merc was “on fire.” Perhaps other options in the storyline could have been explored.
3.Vera is still a vixen.
Vera Sidika’s raise to fame was as a video vixen for various local artists including P-Unit, CMB Prezzo and others. This being her first musical debut, she proves she still got it, with her classic camera stare and sultry poses. The Kenyan beauty is not afraid to show off her bodacious body which makes for interesting shots. However, many may question whether she relied too havily on her looks for the video’s success.
