NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 24 – Soap-maker PZ Cussons East Africa has announced plans to invest Sh150 million over the next year to boost production, distribution, and innovation, with a strong focus on engaging Gen Z and millennial consumers.

“Our research shows that consumers under 35 are adventurous with fragrance and personal care, consistently experimenting with new formats and bold scents while shopping across online and modern retail channels,” said PZ Cussons East Africa Managing Director Sekar Ramamoorthy during the unveiling of the revamped Imperial Leather range.

Ramamoorthy added that the company is adapting to a more nuanced beauty and personal care market by focusing on broader consumer segments with shared preferences.

Kenya’s beauty and personal care market, valued at around Sh20 billion, continues to record steady single-digit growth, a trend that has encouraged the company’s renewed investment.

“We are not just unveiling a new range of carefully crafted, insight-led products — we are reigniting a relationship and inspiring a new generation that shares our values,” said PZ Cussons Africa Marketing Director Hafsa Athur.
