NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 10 – Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi says his Office is ready to deliver to Kenyans under the mandate assigned to it by the Head of State.
Mudavadi says Kenyans want the change they were promised by the Kenya Kwanza team, which has since formed the government.
In his remarks a day after wounding up of the four-day cabinet retreat in Nanyuki, Mudavadi said it is time to walk the talk and ensure efficient, timely, and consistent results are achieved without delay.
“We wrapped up the retreat Sunday with each one of us carrying a clear package of deliverables home. We have to deliver the Kenya Kwanza plan. We have to revamp the economy,” said Mudavadi.
President William Ruto during the retreat clarified that the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary under Musalia Mudavadi, among other duties, is the liaison between Parliament and the Executive.
This means Mudavadi superintendents’ national legislative agenda for the Kenya Kwanza Government.
The State Department on Parliamentary affairs under Principal Secretary Aurelia Rono is one of the two state departments domiciled in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to aid Mudavadi to deliver on the national legislative agenda.
“On my part, I take the directive by the President very seriously and soon I will begin engaging Parliament on crucial areas that will need the collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi said leaders must stop being selfish and turn their energies towards liberating the country for the betterment of all citizens for there is no dignity in poverty.
“I believe quite a number of Kenyans have had an opportunity to listen to a very popular ringtone that says, “there is no dignity in poverty”. I am the author. When I say those words, I speak from the depth of my belief that we need to liberate our people from the shame and indignity of poverty. The only way Kenyans will be dignified is to have…Pesa Mfukoni especially by uplifting those at the bottom of the economic pyramid. This can only be achieved if leaders are honorable enough to uphold ethical and dignified approaches in serving the citizenry,” said Mudavadi.
