The winners’ list of 2018′ s 100 most influential young Kenyans was recently released.
The winning personalities consist of individuals from various fields such as Media which was won by BBC Africa Business editor, Larry Madowo, Lifestyle by YouTuber Natalie Tewa, and Entertainment by top comedian Timothy ‘Njugush’ Kimani. In the Business category, Chandaria Industries CEO Darshan Chandaria was recognized, in the category of Leadership & Civil Society Youth advocate, Raphael Obonyo was named, while the category of Personal development & academia was scooped up by Young Kenyan Women Leaders founder Ruth Ambogo. In the areas of Science & Technology, LinkedIn’s Head of Research & Development Thogori Karao took home the prize. The category of Social Enterprise & Philanthropy celebrated Marakwet Girls Foundation founder Ruth Kilimo, as the category of Sports was won by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama.

The list, which was done by local company Avance Media Africa, has different personalities in the list ranging from bloggers, comedians to musicians aged from between 15-40 years.
The original 100 Most Influential Young Kenyans list released in 2018 included personalities such as Capital FM’s Amina Abdi Rabar, Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha, TV personality Betty Kyallo, controversial politician Steve Mbogo, Former Capital FM lifestyle content creator Sharon Mundia, musicians Nyashinski, Fena Gitu, King Kaka, Octopizzo, Khaligraph Jones, award-winning blogger Lucia Musau, Global Citizen award winner Wawira Njiru, social media big wig Xtian Dela and actress Brenda Wairimu.
However, in light of the Fadhili Wilkins saga last week, the company released a statement to announce the removal of the social entrepreneur’s name from the 2018 100 Most Influential Young Kenyans rankings.
