NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 26 -Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka is leading his fellow One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals at the Jubilee National Delegates Conference (NDC) that will endorse Raila Odinga as the Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate.
Kalonzo is accompanied at the NDC with KANU party leader Gideon Moi and the United Democratic party’s Cyrus Jirongo. Martha Karua is missing in action.
“We are committed to work with like-minded leaders and that is why the formation of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance is important,” Kalonzo said.
KANU’s Gideon Moi who also spoke stated that said that they had agreed to work with like minded parties who share the same ideals and values as they do.
“I stand here to affirm that once we finish our structured dialogue as OKA, I plead with you that you do this in good faith and I plead that the outcome should be looked at in the presumpt of the Kenyan people,” Moi said.
During the event, Jubilee Party formally endorsed Raila Odinga to succeed President Kenyatta.
Jubilee and ODM both support the Azimio La Umoja coalition and have invited like-minded political parties including OKA to join forces so as to win the August election.
On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said the new coalition will field a joint presidential candidate to face what he described as “hawa Wakora” in reference to his Deputy William Ruto who is campaigning under his United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
