Blankets & Wine is set to kick off its 2025 season in style with an electrifying edition on June 29th at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The event promises an unforgettable day of music, art, and culture and marks the 16th anniversary of championing African talent, both emerging and established, across Kenya, the continent, and beyond.
This edition of Blankets & Wine will feature two dynamic stages, each delivering a rich tapestry of African sounds and genres. Tickets are available via Mookh, and fans are urged to grab theirs early for what promises to be a truly immersive experience.
Headlining the main stage is Mi Casa, South Africa’s soulful house trio renowned for global hits like “Jika” and “Tulale Fofofo”—their infectious collaboration with Kenya’s very own Sauti Sol. Kenya’s vibrant music scene will also be on full display with performances by Matata and Ssaru, who will blend Gengetone, Afrobeats, and show-stopping choreography. Serro, the powerful vocalist known for bringing a contemporary twist to Kenyan folk, joins the lineup alongside rising stars Shad Mziki, offering a soulful pop experience, and We Are Nubia, the Afropop/R&B duo with sweet harmonies and groove. From Tanzania, legendary singer Saida Karoli will take audiences on a journey through Taarab, Bongo Flava, and traditional Tanzanian rhythms. Ugandan breakout star Joshua Baraka will turn up the heat with his signature dancehall-infused energy.
On the Onja Onja Stage, festivalgoers can expect a curated journey into electronic African music from day to night. Performing live will be Akoth Jumadi & Mr. Lu with their soul-stirring Afro-fusion sound, Coco Kahi with a seamless blend of hip-hop, electronica, and Afro influences, and DJ IV and Bune, bringing infectious amapiano and Afro-house beats. The stage will also feature an explosive b3b set from Ghedi x Hiribae x Paps and a deep dive into alternative Afro-house music by DJ Ite.

With two stages and 17 exceptional African artists, we’re delivering an experience that’s rich in value, culture, and connection.”

Blankets & Wine will be heading to the United Kingdom for the first time in a major leap forward. The festival is slated to take place in Bradford City’s Lister Park on September 6th, 2025, in partnership with the British Council as part of the UK/Kenya Season 2025. This marks a significant international expansion, spotlighting Kenyan and African artistry globally.
