Beams Global eyes Kenya base in East Africa clean energy push

NAIROBI, Kenya, April 20 – US-based clean energy firm Beams Global is targeting expansion into Africa, with a focus on Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda as part of its push to advance sustainable energy and mobility solutions.

Speaking in Nairobi during an East Africa tour, CEO Desmond Whealley said the company plans to establish a base in Kenya to roll out solutions in mobility, water and public infrastructure.

The firm offers products including Beam Sport, Beam Well, Beam Mobile and Beam Patrol, aimed at supporting off-grid electric vehicle charging and clean water access.

Beams Global is also positioning itself in solar-powered desalination, providing off-grid clean water systems that are relatively affordable to install while delivering immediate and long-term impact.

During the visit, Whealley held talks with county governments including Machakos, Kiambu and Nairobi, before proceeding to Dar es Salaam and later Kigali as part of the regional tour.
