NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 19 – The search for the bodies of two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials who drowned in Kwale floods has been intensified.
According to interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, the vehicle of the two officials has been retrieved.
Omollo stated that it has been “towed Msambweni Police station as a multi-agency team led by the Kenya Coast Guard Service is on scene in efforts to retrieve the missing duo.”
The two were reportedly travelling to Mombasa from Lungalunga on Friday morning when the accident happened.
KRA Acting Southern Region Coordinator Lawrence Siele said the vehicle was swept by floods at Ramisi River after it over flooded the bridge.
He said an intensive search and rescue operation by a government multi-agency team is underway.
In a Statement to newsrooms, Siele said the safety and well-being of KRA employees remains the their first priority and all machinery is being deployed for a positive outcome.
KRA has already engaged family members of the two officers.
