NAIROBI, Kenya, June 27 – The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) has re-advertised the CEO recruitment exercise after they were suspended last week.
In an advert, it has also invited suitable candidates to submit their applications for various top management positions by July 19, 2023.
They include Beneficiary and Provider Management Director, Financial Services Director, Corporate Services Director, ICT Director, and Internal Audit Director.
Last week, the fund’s acting CEO Samson Kuhora suspended the hiring of a new CEO to start the process afresh.
The new NHIF boss will serve for a three-year term with the possibility of one final extension at the end of the period.
“The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible to the Board of Management for providing strategic leadership in the operational, financial and management of NHIF through development and implementation of strategic plans and effective management of resources to achieve NHIF’s overall mandate,” NHIF said.
“S/He will be expected to take lead in transforming NHIF towards achieving UHC as per Government’s agenda.”
On the other hand, Directors will be handed a five years term each and they will be eligible for re-appointment at the end based on performance.
Applicants are expected to meet minimum qualification thresholds such as being a Kenyan citizen, a member of a professional body, and at least 10 years of experience at the senior management level, among others.
In May, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Wafula announced the exercise of looking for a new CEO had been completed before announcing the new boss by the end of last month.
