NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 7 – Insurtech company mTek has entered into a deal with BuyRent Kenya and GA Insurance to enhance uptake of affordable home cover in the country.
In the deal, GA Insurance Kenya will serve as the general agent for the home insurance products offered through mTek’s platform.
Through its Domestic Package Insurance cover, the insurer will safeguard consumers against losses or damages to their homes, household items, injuries, or fatalities involving home workers, among other risks.
mTek says it will utilise its innovative business-to-customer (B2C) digital online insurance platform to simplify the insurance process, making it more accessible and efficient for consumers.

Likewoise, BuyRentKenya will use its extensive network and expertise in the real estate industry to promote and facilitate the adoption of home insurance solutions offered by mTek.
The collaboration will not only streamline the insurance purchasing process but also enhance the overall customer experience, providing peace of mind to homeowners and renters across Kenya.

According to the 2022 Insurance Industry Market report by the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), the majority of consumers now prefer insurance services offered digitally, avoiding the need to wait for assistance from customer service across various functions such as policy purchase, management, payment settlement, claims processing, and more.
