Kenya Power looking for sellers of electric bikes, double cabins

NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18 – Kenya Power is looking to buy electric bikes and double cabins to support its transportation department at Ruaraka in Nairobi.

In a tender document seen by Capital Business, the utility firm said that it will purchase 25 e-bikes as well as 4by2 double cabins.

β€œBidders should use the prevailing VAT rate. However, prices entered in the KPLC-SRM tendering portal should be exclusive of VAT,” Kenya Power said.

β€œIn case of discrepancies between the price keyed in the SRM portal and those on this price schedule uploaded as an attachment, the latter shall prevail,” it added.

β€œThe Bidder’s grand totals should be the same as the tender sum indicated in the Tender Form and should be correctly computed.”

This comes at a time when the firm is looking to fully embrace the electric fleet by 2027 to protect the environment amid climate change discussions.
