NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 27 — The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has warned members of the public to exercise caution against fraudulent individuals soliciting payments to secure candidates vacant job positions in the Judiciary.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to a fair and transparent hiring process, urging applicants to avoid canvassing.
“Persons interested in vacant positions are also advised against any form of canvassing, as this will lead to automatic disqualification,” the JSC stated on Tuesday.
The Commission urged members of the public to verify information on the recruitment process on its formal communication platforms.
JSC issued the alert a day after it kicked off promotional interviews for Judicial Officers.
The JSC has also opened the application window for Judge of The High Court(5 positions) and Judge of the Court of Appeal (11 positions) with the deadline slotted for February 29.
On March 18, JSC will commence interviews for the recruitment of a Chief Registrar of the Judiciary (CRJ) after it shortlisted seven candidates for the job.
CRJ interviews
In a notice published on February 18, JSC said it considered forty-three applications.
The shortlisted candidates are Macharia Rose Wachuka (Chief of Staff, Office of the Chief Justice), Ouma Jack Busalile, Mokaya Frida Boyani, Wambeti Ann Ireri, Ndemo Paul Maina (Deputy/Ag Chief Registrar), Kendagor Caroline Jepyegen and Kandet Kennedy Lenkamai.
JSC said the interviews will run from 8 am to 4.30 pm at JSC offices at CBK Pension Towers.
The Chief Registrar prepares expenditure estimates and administers the Judiciary Fund.
The Registrar is also Secretary to the Judicial Service Commission and National Council for Administration of Justice.
Additionally, the CRJ is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations and administration of Human Resources in the Judicial Service and is in charge of support services in the Judiciary.
