NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 15 – Forestry PS Kimotho Kimani officiated this year’s Woodtech Africa & exhibition at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.
The 3-days conference & exhibition was attended by more than 15 participating countries, including Germany
Themed ‘unlocking the wood market in Africa through sustainable partnerships, match making and smart technologies’, participants engaged in wood market and smart technologies.
“Woodtech Africa 2022 brought together all the constituents of wood technologies, wood industry, Governments and companies from over fifteen (15) Countries across the World,’ Bola Properties managing director Malei Nthiwa.
“The main deliverable of Woodtech Africa 2022 Exhibition and conference is the proposed and upcoming common use wood technology centres of excellence to be established in Nairobi and Machakos Counties and thereafter roll it over to all other forty-Seven (47) counties in the country,” he added.
Woodtech Africa is a trade show showcasing wood working machinery, furniture hardware & fittings, power tools, playwood & panels, timber and lumber among other products.
“We want the governors to give us nurseries, tubes and the budget so that we can be able to proceed to achieve maximum tree coverage”, PS Kimotho said.
Key organizers of the event included India’s Radeecal Communications, Bola Properties, Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Konza Centre of Excellence and real estate Heri Homes.
