NAIROBI, Kenya, June 19 – Ecobank Group has rolled out the 5th edition of the Fintech Challenge, which will see startups walk away with $50,000.
Participants across the African continent will be hosted at the Pan African Banking Group.
Successful candidates will join the Ecobank Fintech Fellowship programme, enabling them to partner and scale their innovative solutions across the bank’s extensive network of 35 African markets as well as its international operations in France.
“Over the past six years, the Fintech Challenge has welcomed a significant number of fintechs. Indeed, these collaborations have played a significant role in transforming Africa’s digital landscape and driving financial inclusion,” Ecobank Group CEO Jeremy Awori said.
The programme also seeks to push for innovation from young people in the banking sector, something the banking group observes that it is very keen on achieving.
“Through this challenge, we identify talents who can support Ecobank’s mission to remain bold and innovative, driving pan-African prosperity for the continent,” Tomisin Fashina, Ecobank’s Operations and Technology Executive, added.
Ecobank further said that fellows will benefit from opportunities including multinational product rollout, access to Ecobank’s Venture Capital partners for funding exploration.
