NAIROBI, Kenya, August 5 – Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) women’s league champions Nairobi Water walloped Daystar University 48-18 in Matchday 2 of the new season at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday morning.
Gladys Chilo lead the way for the water queens with 12 points with national team player Brenda Ariviza added another five to ensure a good start to the weekend for the water queens.
The students replied via Meldine Akoth who topped the scoring charts with 13 points.
The second women’s match of the day saw Nairobi Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) humble National Youth Service (NYS) 41-20 courtesy of five goals each from Elizabeth Atieno and Joan Akinyi.
Lydia Mutindi top scored for NYS with the same number of goals.
In the men’s division, Engineers defeated Inspired 38-29 in the first match of the day courtesy of eight and seven goals from Julius Berege and Kenneth Biwott respectively as Brian Barasa scored 10 goals for the losers.
In other men’s tie of the day, NCPB square off with Inspired as Strathmore University duel with NYS in another match.
