NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 13 – Azimio La Umoja Spokesperson Makau Mutua now opines that Kisii Governor Simba Arati might one day be the President of the Republic of Kenya.
Citing his character, the extinguished lawyer pointed out that the Kisii County boss is the man to watch in the country’s political space as he just might make it to the house on the hill.
“Kisii Governor @SimbaArati could one day become President of the Republic of Kenya. The man is principled, fearless, progressive, brilliant. Watch out!”tweeted Mutua.
This comes amidst talks of who will succeed Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga once he retires from active politics.
Odinga has previously maintained that he is very strong and can continue and will handover the succession mantle when the time is right.
Leaders such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Wycliffe Oparanya, Hassan Joho and James Orengo have been lined up to succeed Odinga.
Arati is no stranger in the political arena having managed to clinch the Kisii Governor seat after having been in city politics all his political life.
The Kisii Governor served for two terms as the Dagoretti North MP catching his opponents off balance when he decided to leave Nairobi politics to become Kisii county boss.
In the 2022 general election he managed to beat Former Transport and Roads CAS Chris Obure, Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, KNC party leader Manson Nyamweya and former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara for the governor slot.
