A New Era of Beauty Education: L’Oréal and Lintons Unveil the Lintons Hair Academy in Nairobi

The Lintons Spa and Hair Studio at Westlands Square was abuzz with excitement on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, as L’Oréal, the world’s leading beauty company and Lintons celebrated the official launch of the Lintons Hair Academy by L’Oréal. Nairobi’s beauty industry heavyweights, fashion enthusiasts, and aspiring hairstylists gathered to witness the unveiling of Kenya’s most advanced hairdressing school, marking a new era in hairdressing education, a first of its kind in Kenya.

The launch was marked by speeches from top executives from L’Oréal and Lintons, who shared the significance of this groundbreaking partnership. L’Oréal, known for its global impact on the beauty industry, has invested heavily in this project, creating an institution designed to shape the next generation of innovative and visionary hairstylists in Kenya.

“At L’Oréal, we believe in the power of beauty to change lives. With the Lintons Hair Academy, we are not just shaping hairstyles, we are shaping futures,” said Grace Mbugua from Business Leader L’Oréal. “Our goal is to empower the next generation of hairstylists in Kenya. This academy offers more than just education; it offers an opportunity for young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to rise.”

The Lintons Hair Academy by L’Oréal is a TVET-accredited institution, offering a comprehensive range of courses for both beginners and experienced professionals. The academy will serve as the ultimate destination for hairstyling education, providing students with cutting-edge training, the latest techniques, and business acumen needed to thrive in Kenya’s growing beauty industry.

Guests were given a tour of the academy’s state-of-the-art facilities, where modern classrooms and salons equipped with the latest technology in hairdressing provided a glimpse into the transformative learning environment that awaits future students.

“We have co-created the finest international hairdressing education in East Africa and this partnership with L’Oréal represents a shared vision for elevating the hairdressing profession in the region,” Lintons founded Dr Joyce Gikunda said. “Together with L’Oréal, we’re committed to providing young people the opportunity to learn from the best, gain internationally recognized certifications, and access internships and job placements with top salons.”

Furthering its commitment to community empowerment, the L’Oréal Foundation will offer scholarships to talented young women from disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering them through education and entrepreneurship to transform their lives and build brighter futures.

The launch wasn’t just about celebrating a new school; it was about celebrating a vision. A vision to empower the youth, to drive innovation in the beauty industry, and to create lasting change. L’Oréal’s partnership with Lintons underscores a commitment to fostering local talent while preparing Kenya’s future stylists to take on the world stage.
