NAIROBI, Kenya Nov 29 – Politrack Africa poll has identified Kakamega County as the top-performing county in Kenya, based on a range of significant initiatives.
The study, which analyzed 20 counties, awarded Kakamega the highest rank with a remarkable performance rate of 70.6 percent, putting it ahead of its counterparts.
Uasin Gishu County closely followed with a performance rate of 69.8 percent, while Narok County also scored 69.8 percent. Isiolo, Kisii, and Homa Bay secured the next positions with performance rates of 68.4 percent, 67.3 percent, and 66.1 percent, respectively.
The survey highlighted several impactful projects in Kakamega County, including the Governor’s Cup tournament, youth and women empowerment through beekeeping, the launch of the solar-powered Samitsi Market Water project, and County shelter improvement initiatives.
Other notable projects in the county encompass the distribution of 4,000 kits for Community Health Promoters and the commissioning of an expanded maternity wing at Lumakand Level-4 hospital in Lugari Sub-County.
Furthermore, Kakamega County demonstrated excellence in sports with a performance rate of 63.2 percent and agriculture farming with 62.1 percent. However, in the areas of health and education, the county secured the fourth and fifth positions, with performance rates of 60.9 percent and 59.4 percent, respectively.
In contrast, Nyeri County ranked last out of the 20 counties, scoring 55.2 percent, followed by Machakos County with 55.9 percent and Baringo County with 56.4 percent.
The survey was conducted with a sample size of 12,801 participants, covering all 47 counties. Telephone interviews were conducted at the household level from November 1st to 8th this year.
