Police Sacco to expedite loan processing, modernize tech

SEP 21 – The Kenya National Police DT Sacco is set to accelerate loan processing for its members and adopt advanced technologies across its platforms.

CEO Solomon Agutsa emphasized that these initiatives will enhance accessibility and efficiency in banking for customers.

Agutsa made these remarks after the cooperative society was awarded the title of ‘Best Managed SACCO’ for the fourth consecutive year at the annual Ushirika Day celebrations, organized by the Cooperative Alliance of Kenya.

This recognition underscores the cooperative model’s capacity to deliver innovative financial solutions and foster sustainable development.

The Police Sacco boasts an asset base of Sh54 billion, a loan portfolio of Sh46 billion, and total deposits of Sh32 billion.

“It is a good day to take stock of our achievements as a movement and to take cognizance of the role that cooperatives play in economic growth, social development, and the empowerment of communities across our nation,” Cooperative Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya added.

“In acknowledgment of the Kenyan cooperative movement being the largest in Africa, and 7th largest in the world, the government has prioritized cooperatives in its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), due to the ability of the cooperatives to pool resources together for purposes of member refinancing through saccos, as well as aggregation for marketing and investment.”
