NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 19 – President William Ruto has replaced Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board Chair Anthony Mwaura with former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi in a reshuffle aimed at enhancing service delivery.
Mwaura, who faced legal challenges during his tenure, has been reassigned to head the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA). His initial appointment was nullified in July by the High Court over procedural irregularities, despite his acquittal of corruption charges.
Former Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura has been appointed Chair of Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital Board, succeeding Olive Mugenda.
In Cabinet changes, Kipchumba Murkomen moves to the Interior Ministry, replacing Kithure Kindiki, now Deputy President. Lee Kinyanjui has been named Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry, while Salim Mvurya takes over the Youth, Creative Economy, and Sports docket.
The reshuffle reflects Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) strategy, according to State House Chief of Staff Felix Koskei.
