Let’s Talk About The Importance Of Vulnerability

Vulnerability from within is something we are learning about regardless of our age. In a world where we’re required to be strong all the time, being vulnerable is now encouraged as it should have a long time ago.

It’s easier to go into your safe space and stay there because you’re comfortable, but if all we do is go for what’s somewhat safe, it’ll mean we never change. There’s a quote that says “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weaknesses.” It’s okay for you to be vulnerable because it’s strength you’re lending to someone who is probably scared.

One can be vulnerable though at first it may be frightening, doubtful and most of all uncomfortable to the point that it feels like your pressure points are being weighed down on. But don’t forget it’s the first big step, and you deserve a pat on the back.

People become vulnerable and share their stories not to get pity but to show you how they’ve grown. Some may deem it unnecessary, and others just don’t care. Their attitude towards you is not because of you, rather, it’s their own insecurities and they feel better when they reflect them on you.

When you reach the place your comfortable in your vulnerability, take it upon yourself to help those who are not yet there to get there.

Kudos to you for being brave enough to share what you’d rather not. The first step is always the hardest but once you have committed to see it through, the rest will fall in place. That’s not to say that it will be easy, but it gets better as you progress. The world is a jungle that not the strongest of people will survive but the ones who are responsive to change. With that been said, adapting to your vulnerability will help you navigate the world.

Being vulnerable doesn’t mean you let people all walk over and use you as if you’re at their beck and call. Be careful not to let them take advantage of you. Don’t be in the habit of co-depending on people to make up for what you think you lack. Don’t be naïve, learn people, doubt the world, and know how it works, because it’s going to help you avoid manipulation when you’re vulnerable.

Trust your instincts. I know you’ve heard it so many times but believe me, it works, and it will never lead you down the wrong path. It may be cliche, but bottom line it works since time immemorial and that’s all you need to help you take over the world.

Vulnerability stirs up your emotions and forces you to confront what you don’t want to accept or having a hard time trying to accept. It’ll take time to understand the whole ordeal which at most will be the most difficult thing you’ll have to deal with. It’s in those emotions that you will understand deeply what vulnerability is.

Be yourself, the world will adjust.
