KISUMU, Kenya, Feb 27 – Former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, who is the current SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) chairman has dismissed Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s call for opening of IEBC servers.
Ranguma indicated that the call for the opening of the servers is late and inconsequential.
He instead told Raila to open the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominations servers.
“Let him first open ODM nominations servers before he demands for the opening of IEBC servers,” he said.
He says what happened in ODM nominations was swept under the carpet by the party leadership who are now crying foul after losing elections.
He says the Supreme Court uphold the election of President Ruto and it’s ironical that after 6 months, Raila makes a turn to claim he was rigged.
Ranguma says the demands by Raila will take the country back at a time President William Ruto is focusing in fixing the economy.
Speaking in Nyando sub county on Sunday during a church fundraising, the former Governor says the 14 days ultimatum issues by Raila for the President Ruto administration is uncalled for and should be ignored.
“The days are running fast, and I want to tell our youth to concentrate on building the economy,” he said.
He says investment fear chaos and the country should not be put on a political mode every year.
He says Kenyans are looking for food and employment and Incase of mass action, gains made by the new government will be reversed.
Ranguma also took the opportunity to thank President Ruto for appointing him to offer duty at SASRA.
“Our people ridicule my post, I want to tell them that this is a big post, it has the potential of turning the economy of this country,” he said.
Ranguma was accompanied by former nominated Senator Rose Nyamunga, Ndhiwa MP Agostino Neto and Kabondo MP Sylvanus Osele.
The former legislators said President Ruto’s administration is here to stay and no amount of intimidation will shake it.
Osele noted that the electoral cycle is 5 years and in the history of Kenya, no president has been forced out of office midstream.
“Let’s join the presidency of Ruto, these theatrics won’t deliver anything to us,” he said.
Neto who is the party leader of The United Green Movement (UGM) party called on the Luo community to embrace multiparty which was introduced by the likes of the late Opposition Doyen Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
“This region has been dominantly in one party, we give you this opportunity to look around and join other parties,” he said.
Nyamunga on her part noted that the region has lost many political leaders due to one party policy mentality.
