NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 7 – Kenya will host the 25th East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Trade Fair from November 1 to 10 in Nairobi, following the launch of a National Organizing Committee to oversee preparations.
The annual fair, which rotates among EAC member states, is expected to attract over 1,000 MSMEs from across the region in sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, trade, and services.
The launch of the committee was led by Cooperatives and MSME Development Cabinet Secretary Dr. Wycliffe Oparanya and Principal Secretary Susan Mangeni. They said the event aims to strengthen regional trade ties and improve market access for small businesses.
The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), which is leading the organizing efforts, said the fair would include exhibitions, investment forums, policy discussions, and training sessions to help MSMEs scale and improve product quality.
Kenya’s team will be responsible for selecting local participants, coordinating logistics, and engaging relevant stakeholders ahead of the regional showcase.
Since its inception, the trade fair has served as a platform to boost cross-border trade, promote innovation, and encourage entrepreneurship across East Africa.
