NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 15-Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has announced the sudden death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, who reportedly collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack.
In a statement, Khalwale said Gloria died on Saturday morning, describing her death as sudden and announcing the loss of a family matriarch.
“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack,” Khalwale said.
Gloria was the mother of Khalwale’s children, whom the senator named in his announcement as Engine Kukaste Khalwale, Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale and Maura Makatse Khalwale.
The announcement of her death comes as a shock to the family and those close to the senator, with details surrounding the circumstances of her death yet to be made public.
Khalwale did not provide further details on where the heart attack occurred.
More information on funeral arrangements and plans to celebrate Gloria’s life is expected to be released by the family.
