In layman’s terms, what is stock investment and what does it entail?
It’s simply buying shares of ownership into a company. Shares are bought and sold like any commodity you’d buy in the real world today. If a company you own performs well, it’ll appreciate in price and you get to share in its success by getting a “share” of the profits akadividends AND price appreciation because it becomes more valuable.
How do you go about your research for top-performing companies in the stock exchange?
We start with the basics which are fundamentals which in simple terms is just reading financial reports filed by the company to the regulator. Most investors look for key information in the numbers like how the company is making money and finding new ways to make money. After that, I use the technicals, which are looking at charts.Then I look at momentum and analyst reports from investment banks and lastly, use AI to get patterns. That’s my proprietary process.
What factors should a beginner investor consider before settling on a prospective investment plan?
First, it is important to come up with a purpose. A why? Examplescould be a holiday, a car or house or simply for retirement. Then we get into the fun stuff. Their risk appetite. Generally, younger beginner investors have higher riskappetites because they don’t have a lot of responsibilities and vice versa.
What would be the top 3 trendiest investments in the world in 2025?
We have to start with AI. Companies in that space are shaping the future and are attracting a lot of attention and money. This reminds me of the dotcom boom where everyone put their money in any company that had dotcom in it. I just hope we’ve learnt our lessons but as humans I can never be too sure. The second is ESG and more so clean energy which is growing fast as well in the West and lastly, Biotech.

AI technology has taken over the universe. How is this advent likely to affect the world of stock exchange?
It already has affected the stock exchange. I can deploy an agent totrack the Magnificent 7 companies and give me a weekly report about performance and news to help me make a decision today. I foresee a future where AI takes an investment philosophy and evolves it to the times and looks for opportunities to invest by itself with little to no human input because once AI has access to tools, it will be able to work on its own.
What risks should a budding beware of while immersing themselves in stock investment?
First rule is to survive. The market takes no prisoners and if you have no discipline and structure to your approach, you can lose all your money. Market risks like companies getting into trouble happen all the time, that’s a risk. Economic factors like tariffs right now are another. Catastrophic factors like acts-of-God are amongst the risks so when you build out a portfolio, you want to be as diversified as humanly possible so that you don’t take 100% loss if something happens to a company you own.
