NAIROBI, Kenya, July 15 – Interswitch East Africa has appointed Geoffrey Njuguna as the new Managing Director for its Kenyan unit.
Njuguna has been serving as the company’s Regional Chief Financial Officer, where he oversaw financial management and supported strategic growth initiatives across the business.
He will now lead Interswitch Kenya’s operations, oversee its growth strategy, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and drive the rollout of digital payment solutions.

Njuguna said he will focus on expanding the company’s role in Kenya’s digital payments ecosystem.
“I am honoured to take on this responsibility and grateful for the confidence the Board and leadership team have placed in me. Together with our talented team, I look forward to building on Interswitch’s strong foundation, deepening our impact in Kenya’s payments ecosystem, and delivering innovative solutions that create lasting value for our customers and partners,” he said.
His appointment comes as Kenya’s digital payments sector continues to expand, driven by growing adoption of cashless transactions, presenting opportunities for payment service providers to broaden financial inclusion and strengthen partnerships across the market.
