NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18 – President William Ruto is now being called upon to mediate a tussle that has delayed road construction in counties for the last two pitting governors on one side and members of parliament on the other over the road maintenance levy fund.
Governors lament the speed with which the cases are moving in court, yet the ground is demanding road projects.
The road maintenance levy fund (RMLF) has been a serious point of conflict between governors and MPs as each wants to control the billions there in.
Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki says the system should be that monies collected from the fuel levy should be distributed to all levels to cater for the needs of all so as to spur immediate growth.
