This new feature offers users a curated stream of STEM-focused content, similar to how the platform organizes its For You and Following feeds. Now live in over 20 countries across the region, the STEM feed provides an engaging and informative space where users can explore a wealth of knowledge from verified experts.
Featuring English-language content with auto-translated subtitles, the STEM feed is backed by two independent fact-checking organizations, CSN and Poynter, ensuring accuracy and credibility. With over a billion users worldwide, TikTok is more than just an entertainment platform—it’s a space for discovery and education. From social issues and art to educational content, users have long leveraged the platform to expand their horizons. Viral trends like #BookTok and #LearnOnTikTok highlight a growing appetite for knowledge and meaningful engagement.

With approximately 25% of TikTok users globally being teenagers, the STEM feed has the potential to inspire a new generation of learners. The feed covers a wide range of topics, from microbiology and planetary science to astrophysics, robotics, and technology innovations. This initiative reassures parents and guardians that TikTok is more than just a platform for viral dance trends and music—it is a space where young minds can engage with meaningful, educational content and be part of a global learning community.
TikTok’s STEM feed is driven by a passionate community of educators, scientists, and tech enthusiasts who simplify complex concepts in engaging ways. Some notable content creators making an impact include Aisha Bande (@chemistrywithaishabande), a Nigerian educator breaking down scientific concepts; Mpho T Makhema (@mphokatmakhema), a South African math teacher making math more approachable; and Eric Mwaura (@profmwaura01), a Kenyan science enthusiast exploring intriguing STEM phenomena.
