NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 3 – Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline Flynas has launched three weekly direct flights between Riyadh and Nairobi.
The flights, which began on October 2, 2025, will operate from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Flynas said the new route is aimed at enhancing connectivity between East Africa and the Middle East, supporting both tourism and trade flows.
“By connecting Riyadh and Nairobi, we aim to make travel more convenient and affordable, support Kenya’s tourism sector, and create new opportunities for businesses on both sides,” said Waleed Alahmed, Flynas Director of Corporate Communications.
He added that the service would also cater to religious travel, allowing more Kenyan pilgrims to access Saudi Arabia’s holy cities through Riyadh.
“By opening this route, we are also facilitating easier access for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims while strengthening people-to-people and business ties between Kenya and the Kingdom.”
The expansion is part of the airline’s “We Connect the World to the Kingdom” strategy aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to link the Kingdom with 250 international destinations and attract 150 million tourists annually.
Founded in 2007, Flynas operates over 2,000 weekly flights across 139 routes in 30 countries, with a fleet of 64 aircraft.
The carrier has been ranked among the world’s top 10 low-cost airlines and was recently named the Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East by Skytrax for the eighth consecutive year.
The entry of Flynas is expected to increase competition on the Nairobi–Middle East corridor, where carriers such as Saudia, Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Kenya Airways already operate.
