NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 27 – The High Court has appointed an official liquidator for Myspace Properties (Kenya) Limited, advancing insolvency proceedings against the real estate developer and opening a window for creditors to file claims.
According to a notice published in the Kenya Gazette, insolvency practitioner Waithaka Ngaruiya was appointed liquidator of Myspace Properties (Kenya) Limited effective April 15, 2026, under Section 439(1) of the Insolvency Act following Insolvency Petition No. E3 of 2022.
The appointment places the company’s affairs, business and assets under the control of the liquidator, who has been empowered by the court to take custody of the company’s property and administer the liquidation process in accordance with Kenya’s insolvency laws.
Creditors and other parties claiming to be owed by the company have been directed to submit proof of debt forms together with supporting documents within 60 days of the notice for consideration during the liquidation process.
“By virtue of the appointment, the affairs, business and property of the Company are vested in and subject to the control of the Liquidator.”
“Pursuant to Section 444 of the Act, the Liquidator is authorized to take possession, control and custody of all property to which the Company is or appears to be entitled.”
The Gazette notice states that claims must be lodged using the prescribed Proof of Debt (Form No. 5), available through the Business Registration Service, alongside all relevant supporting documentation.
The liquidation process will involve identifying and securing the company’s assets, verifying creditors’ claims and administering any distributions in accordance with the priority framework provided under the Insolvency Act.
