MDAs to conduct staff rationalization starting July

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 13 – All government ministries, departmental agencies (MDAs), and county governments will conduct staff rationalization in efforts to increase productivity and efficiency.

While tabling the 2024–25 financial year budget before Parliament on Thursday, Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u revealed that the government will roll out a unified human resource system starting in July this year to consolidate data on the public service workforce.

The system will be linked to the Kenya Revenue Authority iTax system as the Salaries and Remuneration Commission continues streamlining allowances.

The Sh4 trillion budget, which is the second budget of the Kenya Kwanza government, aims to focus on the Bottom Up Transformation Agenda priorities, where the national government has been allocated Sh2.3 trillion and Sh400 billion for the county government.
