NAIROBI, Kenya Jun 30 – Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi says strengthening trust in public institutions will be critical to attracting investment and driving Kenya’s digital economy.
In his address to during the Kenya Regulatory Institutions Consultative Meeting, Mudavadi said misinformation and declining public confidence pose growing challenges to governments and institutions in the digital age, making transparency and accountability more important than ever.
“Trust is the foundation upon which strong institutions, stable democracies and prosperous economies are built. In today’s digital era, where misinformation and declining public confidence present growing challenges, strengthening trust between citizens, institutions and governments has become more important than ever,” he said.
Mudavadi announced Kenya will host the Global Trust Summit from October 22 to 23. It will bring together governments, regulators, academia and the private sector to develop practical solutions aimed at strengthening information integrity, democratic institutions and international cooperation.
He said hosting the summit will position Kenya as a global thought leader on governance and institutional trust while reinforcing the country’s reputation as a reliable regional and international partner.
The summit is expected to bring together governments, regulators, academia and the private sector to discuss practical solutions for stronger institutions and sustainable development.
