Huawei launches WATCH FIT 4, Band 10 in Kenya to power smart health and fitness

JUNE 21 – Huawei has officially launched its latest wearables—the WATCH FIT 4 Series and Band 10—in the Kenyan market, bringing pro-level outdoor tracking, AI-powered health features, and sleek design to the country’s fast-growing tech and wellness scene. The launch follows the devices’ global debut in May and reflects Huawei’s deepening investment in Kenya’s digital lifestyle market.

“Kenya is a rapidly growing hub for digital wellness, and we’re proud to bring global innovations like the WATCH FIT 4 and Band 10 to this market,” said Jin Renbin, Device Manager, Huawei Kenya.

Staying true to its “Fashion Active” philosophy, the WATCH FIT 4 combines bold aesthetics with smart fitness tech, weighing just 27 grams and delivering up to 10 days of battery life on a single charge. It includes features such as dual-band GNSS tracking, barometric elevation data, offline topographic maps, watersports route tracking, and freediving support up to 40 meters.

The Band 10, meanwhile, targets students, first-time fitness users, and everyday users seeking a lightweight wellness companion. At only 15 grams, it offers a 14-day battery life, with a five-minute charge delivering up to two days of use. It comes with core wellness features like continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO₂ tracking, 24/7 heart rate variability (HRV) analysis, and sleep insights.

“We are integrating AI more deeply into health tracking,” said Adam Lane, Policy and Partnerships Manager at Huawei Kenya. “It’s about real-time insights that empower users to take proactive control of their physical and emotional wellbeing.”

Huawei has tailored its wearables to local usage patterns by including workout modes aligned with activities like running, cycling, and walking outdoors. The company is also exploring partnerships with Kenyan universities and health tech startups to integrate regional data for public wellness research and app development through its Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) platform.

“We’ve taken a localized approach to ensure relevance,” said Wilfred Odera, Marketing Manager at Huawei Kenya. “We want our wearables to be daily wellness companions for every Kenyan.”

The WATCH FIT 4 is priced at KES 19,999 (down from KES 21,999), while the Band 10 comes in two versions: the aluminum alloy model at KES 7,999 (from KES 8,999) and the plastic case version at KES 6,999 (from KES 7,999). The wearables are available at major retailers including Anisuma, Miniso, Phone Place, and other Huawei partner stores across the country.

Huawei is working with local telcos and retailers to offer installment payment options, product bundles, and seasonal promotions aimed at boosting accessibility and uptake.

According to IDC, Huawei is currently the world’s leading wearables brand, holding a 16.9 percent global market share and recording 44.3 percent year-on-year growth. The new devices build on the success of the WATCH FIT 3, which won the 2024 Good Design Award and received praise from BestBuy and Wareable.

“We’re delivering flagship-level capabilities at prices that work for Kenyan professionals, athletes, students—and everyone in between,” added Odera.
