NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 7 – Huawei Cloud has introduced new technologies, including its Big Data solutions and CodeArts DevOps platform, to the Kenyan market as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem.
The announcement was made during the Huawei Cloud TechWave Kenya Day in Nairobi, which brought together more than 120 senior leaders from government, finance, e-commerce, media, and the broader ICT sector under the theme “Innovate Now, Ignite the Future.”
Frank Shi, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Kenya, said the company was transitioning from cloud-native to AI-native systems, embedding artificial intelligence into every layer of its infrastructure. “The best time to develop Cloud and AI is now,” he said, noting Huawei’s 27-year presence in Kenya and its ambition to provide end-to-end software development tools.
Huawei Cloud’s ecosystem includes more than 2,000 global industry customers and over 800 technology partners, experience it says it is now adapting for Kenya through local partnerships with enterprises, developers, and institutions.
Timothy Oriedo, CEO of Predictive Analytics Lab, highlighted the role of data, AI, and DevOps in transforming sectors such as agriculture, fintech, and logistics. He said turning raw data into actionable insights could raise efficiency across industries.
Representing Huawei Cloud’s product team, Rex Xiao introduced CodeArts, a DevOps platform integrating 28 tools into one environment. He said the system improves development efficiency, enforces stricter security standards, and automates testing and deployment.
Ishaq Kassam, Chief Commercial Officer at FinSense Africa, emphasized DevSecOps as key to digital-first strategies, pointing to practices such as one-click deployment, root cause analysis, and security by design.
Case studies shared at the forum included a Philippines-based internet company that reported a tenfold increase in development efficiency after adopting CodeArts. Huawei Cloud experts also presented a Lakehouse architecture for data modernization, combining the scalability of data lakes with the reliability of warehouses to strengthen analytics and AI modeling.
A live demonstration by Huawei engineers showcased how cloud-based DevSecOps could accelerate the rollout of an e-commerce application with automated testing, monitoring, and performance validation.
Huawei Cloud reiterated its long-term commitment to the Kenyan market, saying integration of cloud computing, big data, AI, and DevOps would allow local enterprises to cut costs, innovate faster, and scale solutions.
